Andhra Pradesh: Jana Sena keeps parties guessing on 2019 tie-up

Jana sena has conveyed a message that it is against family politics.

Vijayawada: Assuring 25 years of political career to youth members, the Jana Sena started its two-day concluding session of ‘Autsahikula Vedika’ of two Telugu states here in the capital city.

With the participation of more than 70,000 people from the Telugu states, the Jana Sena is confident about its election plans for 2019. It is also weighing the pros and cons of having and alliance with the YSRC or any other party, a senior leader close to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said.

“We are yet to examine our options,” the leader said and added that the pre-election atmosphere will decide with whom the Jana Sena will sail in 2019. The Jana Sena, during its Vijayawada fete, has communicated the message with that it is not against a dialogue with any political party.

“It is not the question of the YSRC or some other party. It is too early to say anyting about alliances. But, for sure we are not against any alliance, subject to the condition of the pre-poll atmosphere in the state, in 2019,” said a senior leader close to Mr Pawan Kalyan.

Asked whether this could be treated as an official statement of the Jana Sena, he whispered that it was up to the wisdom of the people or parties as to in what form they wish to understand it. He neither denied the possible alliance nor confirmed the same.

Mr Hari Prasad, another key leader in Mr Pawan Kalyan’s team and the party’s media head, said, “The Jana Sena’s building will be completed by March 14, 2018, then we can think of the other things.”

He clarified that they were adjudicating their strengths right now.

“We can’t comment on the future, things which sound hypothetical,” Mr Hari Prasad said.

The Jana Sena, which is going to conclude the Autsahikula Vedika on Sunday, has thrown an open challenge to the ruling Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh by showing the huge presence of new faces and demonstrating that the new party has a strong base in the capital city also.

The speakers of the Saturday session — party vice-president Mahe-nder Reddy and leaders Shankar Goud and Riyaz — mentioned about building the team of Jana Sena for the next 25 years.

“The state of Andhra Pradesh will experience a new generation of politicians,” Mr Hari Prasad stated.
