Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy's concern over dam safety
He reminded about the sledge pool of 120 feet below copper dam that is going to be a risk factor.
Kurnool: Former Union minister Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy on Saturday expressed doubts about the safety of Srisailam dam and its capability to stand an imminent flood situation.
He said the dam is brimming at 882 ft and holding the water without any let out. Is the dam safe enough to hold such large quantities of water, he questioned. What would happen if a situation like 2009 occurs again, he asked at the Congress office on Saturday.
He said the situation is “very dangerous”, but both AP and TS governments are not bothered to take up steps to strengthen and fortify the structure. He reminded about the sledge pool of 120 feet below copper dam that is going to be a risk factor.
