Naidu holds meeting at Banaganapalli, tells women to vote for TD

ANANTAPUR: Telugu Desam chief and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has regretted that many people have forgotten his three-decades-old services to all sectors in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu, currently on a ‘yatra’ in Kurnool district, had interacted with women groups in the name of Praja Vedika at Banaganapalli in Nandyal district on Friday.

He interacted with women and said they were now suffering due to the “false promises of Jagan Mohan Reddy.” He said women are unsafe under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule in AP.

Naidu said as many as 400 cases were pending against the state's MPs and MLAs of the YSRC. “Even those involved in harassment of women are allotted seats by the YSRC in the coming polls as Jagan Mohan Reddy has no respect for women," he alleged.

He said, "Keechakas facing cases will again be candidates as MPs and MLAs. Sexual assault cases are more in AP than in any other state.”

Naidu said the Telugu Desam favoured 33 per cent reservation for women. “Women rejected TD in the last polls though I respected them. Compare the rule of TD and YSRC when you vote in the next polls,” the former CM told women.
