PSC credibility not lost, says Kerala CM

He told reporters here on Wednesday that all the guilty will be brought before the rule of law.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reiterated that the credibility of the PSC has not been lost due to the irregularities in the civil police officer examination.

He told reporters here on Wednesday that all the guilty will be brought before the rule of law.

“Some people used fraudulent methods in the test conducted by the PSC, which reported the matter to the police. This has only increased the credibility of the institution. The PSC vigilance found out the irregularities within 15 days of the investigations,” said Mr Vijayan.

There were instances in 2003 and 2010 when irregularities were found in the LDC and SI recruitment examinations of the PSC, he said.

It was based on the report of the PSC vigilance that action was initiated then also. Discussions will be held to ensure such incidents do not recur, he said.

The PSC has debarred those involved in the case from writing not only tests of the state PSC, but also by the recruitment agencies throughout the country, he said.

The PSC conducts 200 recruitment tests annually and receives over one lakh applications. The main task was to improve the professionalism of the organisation, he said.
