Hyderabad: Gutha Sukhender Reddy, the TRS candidate, filed his nomination for the election to the lone Legislative Cou-ncil seat under the MLAs quota on Wednesday.
Accompanied by ministers A. Indrakaran Reddy, G. Jagadish Reddy, V. Prash-anth Reddy and Srinivas Goud, Mr Reddy submitted two sets of nomination pap-ers to Legislature Secretary V.V.S. Narasimhacharyulu.
TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday nominated three-time MP Sukhender Reddy as a party candidate for the election for the lone Council seat from the MLAs quota.
Mr Reddy will be elected as an MLC unopposed for the lone MLC seat as nobody from opposition parties filed the nominations. The Opposition parties are not contesting the elections as they does not have numbers in the Legislative Assembly to compete with the ruling TRS. As per the Election Commission notification, the election will be held on August 26.
