Hyderabad: New Congress incharge for Telangana state R. C. Kuntia said on Monday that his main aim was to bring the party back to power in the 2019 general elections.
Speaking to mediapersons in Delhi, Mr Kuntia said he would tour Telangana state extensively. His first tour of the state would be from August 12 to 14. It was intended to meet Congress leaders in the districts to gather their opinions on how to strengthen the party to take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti in the state.
He said the TRS was the opponent for the Congress in the state, and the party would explose all its failures.
He said the main task before him was to improve the party structure and leadership from grassroot level.
“If all the Congress leaders fight unitedly, there would be no problem in coming to power, I will work to bring unity among leaders,” Mr Kuntia said.
Mr Kuntia recently replaced senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh as the party incharge in TS.
