V Hanumantha Rao seeks time for students

Mr Hanumantha Rao raised the issue of the present batch of nearly 150 students, whose coaching for the civil services exam was not complete.

Hyderabad: Congress former MP V. Hanumantha Rao has appealed to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to look into problems affecting the functioning of TS Study Circle and increase the stipend extended to BC, SC, ST and minority students there.

Mr Hanumantha Rao raised the issue of the present batch of nearly 150 students, whose coaching for the civil services exam was not complete.

Though they were not properly coached, the students were being asked by the study circle administration to vacate the premises to make space for the new batch.

The premises in Banjara Hills can easily accomodate around 500 students, and the existing batch should be allowed to continue until completion of coaching, he said,

Students who were on hunger strike seeking extension of their batch ended their stir after authorities assured them that they would look into the issue. Sources said that they the study circle would be given three months to complete the pending classes.
