Bengaluru: The BJP has decided to organise 'Tiranga Yatra' for 15 days starting from August 9 throughout the state following a call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This was decided at a special meeting of the BJP state office-bearers, legislators, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members and president of various morchas held here on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, State BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa said during this time, party workers will hold various programmes at the mandal, taluk and district level.

The tone, tenor and content of the events would be positive where patriotism and nationalism would reverberate with positive sloganeering in the memory of those who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.

He said that Prabhat Pheris would be organised at all taluk and district places during the 15-day programme. On August 9, as part of Quit India Day events, hundreds of youth would take out a bike rally holding the national tri-colour.

In the intervening night of August 14-15, thousands of youth belonging to BJP Yuva Morcha and the IT cell of the party would hold ‘Run for Bharat’ from Freedom Park in Bengaluru which would commence at 10:30 pm.
