Tumakuru fracas deepens Siddaramaiah-Parameshwar rift

The Deputy CM has been fuming ever since Rajanna bad-mouthed him, blaming him for the defeat of JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda.

Bengaluru: The simmering rivalry between Congress Legislature party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM Dr G. Parameshwar, who was outfoxed by the former in the race for CM, is once again building up with Dr Parameshwar turning the heat on Siddaramaiah loyalist and former Congress MLA K.N. Rajanna.

The Deputy CM has been fuming ever since Rajanna bad-mouthed him, blaming him for the defeat of JD(S) supremo Deve Gowda in the Tumakuru Lok Sabha poll. Siddaramaiah discussed this with Dr Parameshwar and had persuaded Rajanna to issue an apology but the Deputy CM is in no mood to let go.

In fact Dr Parameshwar has blamed some Congressmen-loyalists of Siddaramaiah for working to defeat Congress candidates of the Dalit community to which he too belongs, like Mallikarjun Kharge and K.H. Muniyappa.

Dr Parameshwar has also brought up the contradictions in the approach of the Congress leadership-no action is taken against Rajanna, while Shivajinagar MLA Roshan Baig is in the dock for his comments against the CLP leader.
