Congress promotes just one 'surname', ignores other leaders: BJP
Vadodara: BJP leader Ram Madhav on Wednesday said the Congress promotes just one "surname" and ignores the contribution of other leaders in the party, that's why it is losing power in one state after another.
Asked about the resignations of two senior Congress leaders Gurudas Kamat and Ajit Jogi, Madhav said as a BJP member he can not comment on internal affairs of the Opposition party.
"However, in my individual capacity, I criticise the Congress which considers only those with a particular surname (a reference to Gandhis) as their leader and does not recognise the contribution of other leaders in the party."
It is due to this reason, Congress, which received severe drubbing in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, has been losing power in one state after another, the BJP General Secretary said.
He was talking to reporters during a brief halt at Harni airport here on way to Mehsana city in North Gujarat.
To a query, Madhav said "tight security arrangements will be made during the 59-day long Amarnath Yatra (in Jammu & Kashmir) beginning next month." Madhav is in charge of party affairs in Jammu & Kashmir, where BJP is part of the PDP-led ruling coalition.
