Whenever country faces a crisis, Rahul runs away to Italy'

Adityanath alleged that the AICC president had the habit of running away to Italy, whenever the country faced a crisis situation.

Belagavi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has a piece of advice for voters in Karnataka “When Rahul Gandhi (Congress president) comes here to ask for votes, ask him to go to his grandmother’s town in Italy!”

The BJP's star campaigner was in Gokak, near Belagavi on Monday to seek votes for his party candidate Ashok Pujari, who is fighting against Congress strongman and district in-charge minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. Adityanath alleged that the AICC president had the habit of running away to Italy, whenever the country faced a crisis situation. “So now, when he comes to your village to campaign for Congress candidates, ask him to go to his grandmother's town in Italy. Let him come back when the elections are over,” he quipped.

Yogi alleged that CM Siddaramaiah was good only at making money and not in implementing any programme or schemes for the welfare of the people. “He has swindled all the money that the Centre released for development schemes. The CM is worried only about Rupayya (money) and not about people. He wants to continue to rule by dividing people. It's time he is sent home,” he said.

The Congress considers Karnataka its ‘ATM’ and state Congress leaders keep sending money to leaders in Delhi, he claimed. Listing the achievements of his government, he said farm loans upto '1 lakh have been waived and several schemes were being implemented for SC/ST welfare. Five places related to Dr Ambedkar have been developed and compensation delivered at the doorstep of families who had lost their kin and property in the recent storm.
