TD questions non-participation of Telangana in southern states FM's conference
Hyderabad: Former MLC and Telangana Telugu Desam (TD) general secretary N. Narsireddy on Monday asked Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao why he wasn’t speaking up against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s moves in violation of the country’s federal spirit.
He commented that while the CM has announced a federal front against the BJP and the Congress, he is silent over the Centre’s anti-federal measures.
Speaking to the media on Monday, he also questioned the absence of Telangana finance minister Etela Rajender from the meeting of southern states finance ministers that was held on Monday at Vijayawada, as well as the previous one held in Kerala to fight against the Centre’s involvement in the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission. He also asked if Telangana was not part of the list of southern states.
He asked the CM why he was not reacting when the Prime Minister himself was involving himself in the affairs of the Finance Commission and trying to seize the rights of states. He said that Mr KCR has failed in his promises given to Telangana during bifurcation, and asked what he is going to achieve by floating the federal front, and said everyone knows who was behind KCR’s proposal.
