Nitish Kumar slams BJP, stays clear of Left parties
KOZHIKODE: JD (U) National President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did not mention a single word about Left parties in his election campaign here on Saturday. The leader, who was in the forefront in forming a grant alliance of secularist parties in the country hand-in-glove with Left parties, slammed BJP for its divisive policies.
“BJP will pour in promises during election time and comfortably forget it afterwards,” he said. “NDA said that they would bring back the stashed money within 100 days of assuming office and distribute it to each citizen. What has happened till date? Did any black money return? Did farmers get minimum support price for any crop as was promised,” Nitish asked.
He alleged that the BJP deliberately tried to divide people through Ghar Vapasi, Love Jihad and beef issues as they want to turn the public ire from non-implementation of the promises. “At any cost no vote should be given to divisive forces who try to destroy our secular fabric,” Nitish urged.
He called upon the electorate to follow the people of Bihar who rejected BJP despite their high octane campaigns. The Bihar Chief Minister lauded the five-year rule of UDF government and appealed to re-elect the same. UDF candidates, M.K Muneer, P.M Suresh Babu, P. Kishanchant, M.K Raghavan MP among others were present.
