CM Oommen Chandy in alliance with BJP, says VS Achutanandan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF leaders on Saturday slammed chief minister Oommen Chandy's statement that the main fight in many of the constituencies in the coming elections was between the UDF and BJP. Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan said that Chandy's statement reflected the match fixing that was taking place between the Congress and BJP. He said the contest between the Congress and the BJP was for second place.
Political bargaining is taking place between the Congress and the BJP and A K Antony's statement that the BJP would not be able to open account this time was just to put a lid on their clandestine operations, he added.
When Vellapally and his son Tushar constituted the BDJS, Chandy responded saying that it would not affect the UDF. While the Congress may be able to ensure some seats during the last leg, in many constituencies it will relegate itself to the third place. Nobody can go along with a party which eulogises the killers of Gandhi. That is why Kerala's secular mind will stand with the LDF, he added.
CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan said Oommen Chandy's objective was to facilitate the victory of NDA alliance in the state. However, the BJP-BDJS alliance will not get even a single seat. There is a secret agenda behind the stand taken by Chandy.
He said Vellapally-Oommen Chandy link was with the knowledge of RSS and it is being worked out on the lines of “Kolibi” model. He said only LDF will be able to counter the threat of the RSS.
