Hyderabad: The TRS which has given a representation to the Election Commission to hold Lok Sabha elections in the state in the first phase, is now apprehensive that the controversy over voter deletion in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh may affect its plans.

If that happens, it will be the second time that TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s plans will go awry. He had dissolved the state Assembly in September last year hoping to have elections in November. With the Congress moving court over the deletion of names from voter lists, the election process was only completed on December 12.

This time, the Telugu Desam has indicated that it will take legal recourse over the voter deletion row, and the TRS is apprehensive that it may affect the LS elections in Telangana state as well as the TD is likely to involve agencies across the inter-state border. There are reports that both states could have elections on the same day.
