Shuhaib murder case: Not afraid of CBI, says Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Wednesday said the CPM was not afraid of CBI probe into Shuhaib murder case.
At a press conference here, Kodiyeri said CBI probe was not something which would affect his party. However, he demanded a fair probe into the case as the BJP was trying to misuse CBI to settle political scores.
Kodiyeri said if CBI which works directly under the instructions of RSS, is misused for hounding the CPM workers then the party would counter it legally and politically. “There is nothing for the CPM to hide in Shuhaib murder case. We are not afraid of any investigation including CBI probe,” he said and added that the arrest of the party workers had been taken seriously.
He alleged that the unholy alliance of RSS and Congress had led to the new development in the case. "I have not seen the copy of judgment yet. In case if there are adverse remarks against the state government then the authorities concerned would take appropriate decision on moving the higher court,” he added.
Kodiyeri said Kerala police had carried out investigations into the case in a professional manner. The government position is that all cases should be investigated by Kerala police. Only cases which are not cracked should be handed over to central agency. Even in Shuhaib case there were no allegations against the Kerala police probe.
“Narendra Modi who declared that CPM needs to be exterminated, is controlling the CBI today. Lavalin case was one of the best examples of how CBI was misused to politically eliminate the opponents.”
