Why no probes into KCR illegalities, Congress asks BJP

All those who joined the ruling party will pay a heavy price in the days ahead, said Manickam Tagore

KHAMMAM: AICC in-charge for Telangana Manickam Tagore, launching a scathing attack against Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, on Sunday said that the Congress will order a full-fledged inquiry into his “corrupt deals” after it comes to power in the state. He alleged that the Chief Minister had earned crores of rupees from various contracts.

“The TRS and the BJP that are pretending to be fighting against each other are making friendship in Delhi. While Rao fears that his illegal income would be exposed, the BJP leaders are not talking about his corrupt administration,” Tagore said. He wanted to know why the Centre was not ordering investigations by the Enforcement Directorate, income-tax department and the CBI into Rao's irregularities.

Referring to defections by Congress MLAs, he said that all those who joined the ruling party will pay a heavy price in the days ahead.

“I swear on the name of Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy that the MLAs who were elected on the Congress symbol and left the party should not be taken into the party under any circumstance. It is sad that the leaders won on the party symbol but ditched the Congress and joining the TRS", he said.

Booth-level committees will be constituted in all districts to take forward the decision taken at Khammam, he said. “Each and every leader and cadre should adopt a 'winning in our booth is a respect' slogan. Congress will win the next elections in Telangana state,” he said.

He said that special focus would be laid on strengthening the party structure in the state.

He said that all mandal, town and district-level committees would be constituted within 15 days and the 15-member booth-level committees within 30 days. Booth-level committees will comprise a president, social media coordinator and booth-level assistant (BLA) who will deal with the voter list.
