Telugu Desam creating hurdles ahead of Modi's meet: BJP
Vijayawada: AP BJP president Kanna Lakshmianarayana alleged that the Telugu Desam has been trying to halt the public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Guntur, scheduled on February 10.
He, along with other BJP leaders, inspected the arrangements for the public meeting in Guntur on Thursday.
He said that the public meeting has been named Satyameva Jayathe Praja Chaitanya Sabha in which Mr Modi would explain about the funds allotted to Andhra Pradesh and also of the BJP’s contribution towards the development of AP in the last four years.
He alleged that the TD government was trying to prevent the BJP from campaigning about Mr Modi’s public meeting. “We will make the public meeting a success at any cost,” he asserted.
“There is 10 years time to fulfill the bifurcation promises but the BJP government fulfilled a majority of the assurances in the last five years,” he claimed.
He alleged that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, after receiving all the funds and cooperation from the BJP government, is accusing the Centre of doing nothing for the development of the state.
“People in the state are observing the drama and would give a befitting reply to Mr Naidu in the upcoming elections,” he said.
Mr Lakshminarayana said that the BJP government was implementing 130 welfare schemes and that Mr Modi has been arduously working for the development of farmers and the poor in the past four years.
“Due to the efforts of Mr Modi, the income of farmers has doubled,” he said.
He termed the 10 per cent reservation to economically weaker sections of the forward castes as a historical decision by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
Mr Modi iterated the strength of India by conducting surgical strike, which is a befitting reply to the attacks by the rival countries, he said.
