Actor: Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan must join hands in politics
SALEM: Actor Raghava Lawrence said on Wednesday that he would happy if his mentor Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan “come together” in politics and bring about much needed change in Tamil Nadu.
Speaking to reporters here after handing over the key of a house that he built at a cost of '22 lakhs to the family of R. Yogeswaran, who died during the jallikattu agitation last year, Lawrence said he was not interested in plunging into politics, but would support Rajinikanth whether in cinema or in politics.
“I am what I am because of Rajini sir. So, I will definitely support his politics and I would happy if Rajini sir and Kamal sir come together and usher in change. This is my wish,” Lawrence said.
After Yogeswaran died last year, Lawrence had promised to build a house to his family. On Wednesday, he handed over the keys to the family who lost their 17-year-old son.
“It is the duty of every Tamil to protect the family of Yogeswaran who died for a just cause. The Jallikattu protest was successful only because of the participation from students,” Lawrence said.
