Yogi Adityanath slams Siddaramaiah on Hindu remark
Bengaluru: The BJP’s emerging mascot and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday trained his guns on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who had recently asserted that he too was a Hindu.
Addressing the BJP’s Parivarthana Rally at Vijayanagar in Bengaluru on Sunday, Mr Adityanath said the CM had made the turnaround seeing the growing popularity of Hindu ideology in the state.
“During the tenure of the previous BJP regime, the government had introduced the anti-Cow Slaughter Bill in the Karnataka Assembly. If he is a Hindu, why did he and the Congress oppose the bill?” asked Yogi.
Referring to the talaq bill, which was stalled by the Opposition including the Congress in the Rajya Sabha recently, Yogi said the Bill was a revolutionary step intended to empower Muslim women.
