CPI Kannur office comes under attack

The window panes of the branch committee office were smashed and the flag post made to bent.

Kannur: CPI office at Kolmotta near Parassinikadavu in Kannur was attacked in the wee hours of Saturday. The area is the stronghold of CPM.

The two-storey building, known as K.V Moosankutty memorial, is the memorial of CPI leader K.V. Moosankutty Master which houses the CPI branch committee office. The window panes of the branch committee office were smashed and the flag post made to bent. There were marks on the door indicating an attempt to cut it down. CPI Kannur district secretary P. Santhosh Kumar said that there is least chance of an attack from the side of political opponents. “Our guess is that the speech of Kanam would have made the provocation. We have not named anybody but interestingly CPM had come out with a statement that they had no role in it,” said he. CPI conducted a rally and public meeting condemning the incident at Kolmotta.
