Congress accuses TRS, BJP of attacking candidates
Hyderabad: The state Congress has approached the Election Commission (EC) complaining that TRS and BJP workers were attacking its candidates and workers.
They stated that BJP workers had attacked party Kalwakurthy candidate Vamsi Chand Reddy at Jangareddypally village with stones and sticks. The Congress alleged that the attack was organised by BJP candidate Talloju Achary.
Congress leaders alleged that there were earlier attempts to attack Mr Vamsi Chand Reddy at Amangal Government School polling station and two other places. The Congress stated that despite a complaint the circle inspector had not taken precautionary measures to prevent the attack.
The Congress leaders also complained about the attacks on party candidate P. Rohit Reddy from Tandur Assembly constituency by TRS workers lead by Tandur TRS president Rawoof. The party also alleged that TRS workers of Korutla alleging had attacked former MP Madhu Yashki Goud.
Addressing mediapersons, TS Congress in-charge R.C. Khuntia said, “Fearing defeat, the leaders of the TRS and the BJP are encouraging their party workers to attack Congress leaders. We condemn the attacks. We can see that the police is supporting the TRS. We have complained to the EC about the police officials too.”
