Congress Replaces 2, Two Seats Vacant in 3rd List
Hyderabad: The Congress released its third list of candidates with 16 names for the November 30 Assembly polls late on Monday, including replacing two candidates. The party has to still name candidates for Suryapet and Tungaturthy in Nalgonda district.
The party confirmed the candidature of TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy from Kamareddy, where he will take on BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. Senior leader Mohd Ali Shabbir, a Kamareddy contestant from 1989, has been shifted to Nizamabad Urban to facilitate this.
The Congress fielded K.K. Mahender Reddy from Sircilla again, from where BRS working president and IT minister K.T.Rama Rao is contesting.
Former MP G. Vivek, who quit the BJP to join the Congress last week, was given the Chennur ticket.
The party also changed the candidates for Wanaparthy and Boath, replacing former minister G. Chinna Reddy and Vannela Ashok with Tudi Megha Reddy and Ade Gajender respectively. This was done based on party surveys, party sources said.
The Congress declared 116 candidates in three lists, with two seats pending. It has allotted Kothagudem seat to the CPI.
Former BRS Yellareddy MLA Enugu Ravinder Reddy was given the ticket from Banswada. He had joined the BJP with Etala Rajender in June 2021 and the joined Congress last week along with Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy.
Neelam Madhu Mudiraj, who joined the Congress from the BRS recently, was given the ticket from Patancheru.
The other candidates are Thota Laxmi Kantha Rao (Jukkal-SC), Purumalla Srinivas (Karimnagar), Suresh Kumar Shetkar (Narayankhed), Dr Jatoth Ramachandru Naik (Dornakal-ST), Koram Kanakaiah (Yellandu-ST), Ramdas Maloth (Wyra-ST), Dr Matta Ragamayee (Sathupalle-SC) and Jare Adhinarayana (Aswaraopeta-ST).
