BJP Yamini wants white paper from AP on central funds

Vijayawada: AP BJP leader Sadineni Yamini on Friday demanded that state government release a white paper on how it has spent funds that the centre allocated to Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, she asserted that the centre had released thousands of crores under Jal Jeevan Mission for providing drinking water and toilets in schools. But the state government failed to utilise these funds.

Yamini alleged that as the state government did not clear the bills of contractors, they stopped construction of toilets in schools. In some cases, they locked up the toilets they had already constructed, as the government did not clear their bills.

She accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of diverting funds meant for schools.

The BJP leader expressed concern that cases related to violence against women and girls are increasing in the state. She alleged that there is no safety for women in AP.

Yamini went on to list a series of central schemes worth thousands of crores announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the benefit of AP. She charged that the state government changed the names of these schemes and claimed credit for them.

She expressed confidence that people of the state will teach a lesson to YSR Congress government in the upcoming assembly polls in AP.
