YSRC opposes Naidu’s \"play of politics\" in Durga temple

Kottu said it was not wise on the part of Naidu to come for a goddess darshan and talk in a “wrong” way to mislead the people

VIJAYAWADA: The YSR Congress has strongly opposed the “raising of politics” by TD leader N. Chandrababu Naidu in the devotional Durga temple during the auspicious Dasara festival and stressed that the government aimed at development of AP through decentralization.

Naidu visited the Durga temple with his wife Bhuvaneswari on Thursday.

The former chief minsiter said Amaravati was started with the blessings of Durga and claimed that the goddess will not favour the 3-Capitals plan of the YSRC. “Many development works have been done on the Indrakiladri Durga temple by the former TD government with a fund of Rs 150 crore and stressed that these development works should be continued.

Naidu said every programme undertaken on the day of Dasara will be successful. He reminded the people that Amaravati was decided as the capital with Goddess Durga as witness.

“The construction of Amaravati was started by bringing water and soil from all the holy rivers and water bodies by involving everyone. All the political parties, including the YSRC, had approved Amaravati as the capital. Goddess Durga will not tolerate those who flinched from the Amaravati decision,” Naidu asserted.

Deputy Chief Minister and endowments minister Kottu Satyanarayana took strong objection to Naidu's statement. He said Naidu misled the people during his visit to the Kanaka Durga Temple on Vijayadashmi. “Goddess Kanaka Durga will shower Her blessings abundantly on Chief Minister Jagan for the comprehensive development of the state and to continue all the welfare schemes uninterruptedly,” he said.

Satyanarayana said it was not wise on the part of the opposition leader to come for a goddess darshan and talk in a “wrong” way to mislead the people. “After developing Hyderabad by investing lakhs of crores of rupees collected as tax from the entire Telugu people, now we have lost it all to Telangana. We have learned a bitter lesson after the bifurcation of the state,” he said, stressing that decentralized development was the way forward for AP.

Minister Satyanarayana said that it was with an evil intention, out of selfishness and to earn thousands of crores of rupees that the TD is hell bent on scuttling the 3-Capitals plan. “I prayed to the goddess to help people have good thoughts, end the bane of selfishness, and meet the aspirations of the people of the state.”

He said it was ridiculous to say Chandrababu developed Indrakiladri hill by spending Rs 150 crore. The TD government constructed only a seven-storey Maha Mandapam, he said.

The minister recalled that the CM did not say that Amaravati is not the capital. “Amaravati will be the legislative capital.”
