YSRCP MLA held for harassment

On hearing of the complaint, the Chief Minister inquired about the case with DGP Gautam Sawang.

Nellore: YSRC MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy was arrested early on Sunday by the Nellore rural police for harassing and threatening a woman official, A. Sarala, mandal parishad development officer, Venkatachalam.

The MLA was arrested for allegedly threatening Ms Sarala, who had complained that Sridhar Reddy, along with his followers, threatened her for not providing water connection to a layout located in Golagamudi on Friday night. She alleged that the legislator came to her home in Kallurupalli, threatened her home and cut-off basic amenities like water supply, power etc. to her house.

The police booked a case and arrested him on Sunday morning, after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took a serious view of the allegations.

On hearing of the complaint, the Chief Minister inquired about the case with DGP Gautam Sawang. On being briefed of the incident, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed the DGP not to tolerate anyone who breaks the law. Mr Reddy instructed Mr Sawang to take legal action if the complainant was able to produce evidence.
