Collectors asked to issue Rythu sops to farmers

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao issued the order while dealing with two petitions by N. Linga Reddy and 25 farmers from Siddipet district.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has directed the principal secretary of Agriculture department and collectors of Siddipet and Nagarkurnool districts to extend financial assistance to the petitioner farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao issued the order while dealing with two petitions by N. Linga Reddy and 25 farmers from Siddipet district and Ms. S Rajitha and 6 other farmers from Nagarkurnool district challenging the action of the authorities in refusing to provide the benefits of scheme on the ground of not having the pattadar passbooks.

The petitioners submitted that they were also denied the assistance on the ground of ongoing land acquisition for Mallanna Sagar reservoir and Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.

While directing the authorities to extend the benefit to the petitioners and also issue passbooks to them , the judge issued notices to the respondent authorities.
