Pawan Kalyan's tweet, comments by MPs make CM see red

Arya Vysyas have been staging protest against the book across the state, alleging that it has hurt the feelings of the Arya Vysya community.

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly expressed his dismay over comments made by minister Mr Pithani Satyanarayana about Jana Sena chief Mr Pawan Kalyan and Eluru MP Mr Maganti Babu over his remarks on writer and social scientist Kancha Ilaiah.

In his tweet on Friday morning, Pawan Kalyan posted that Mr Ashok Gajapathi does not know who Pawan Kalyan is and he was glad that Minister Mr Pithani Satyanarayana also does not know about him.

Mr Pithani had mentioned in Dwaraka Tirumala a day ago that there was no point in thinking about Mr Pawan Kalyan as his party flag was to be seen nowhere in the state.

Irked by Mr Pithani’s comments, Mr Pawan Kalyan tweeted and mentioned “happiness” over the remarks of both TD leaders. The Jana Sena chief’s tweet has prompted the Chief Minister to alert his party leaders to maintain restrain while making comments about the Jana Sena, which is in alliance with the TD.

Meanwhile, though the Telugu Desam is maintaining strategic silence on Kancha Ilaiah’s book on Vyshas, the Eluru TD MP has suggested the Vysyas to attack Kancha Ilaiah by assuring them that he would take care of the rest. His controversial statement in a Vysya meeting has led the TD to land in trouble, as already Rajya Sabha member Mr T.G. Venkatesh has given a call to hang Ilaiah.

As a political party, the TD has not expressed its observation on Kancha Ilaiah’s book so far. Eluru MP Maganti Babu, addressing at an event, slammed Kancha Ilaiah’s book and made sensational comments saying that those who will speak against Arya Vysyas, they should be publically thrashed and assured the Arya Vysyas that he would see to the matter. Arya Vysyas have been staging protest against the book across the state, alleging that it has hurt the feelings of the Arya Vysya community.

Telugu Desam MP Mr T.G. Venkatesh criticised Ilaiah’s new book Samajika Smugglurlu: Komatollu (Vysyas: Social Smugglers), and said he was a traitor who deserved to be hanged in public. The book is at the centre of a controversy because it claims the Arya Vysya community used to eat meat and was agriculturalists. These developments have also irked the CM, according to the TD sources.
