Break legs of Ilaiah, says Eluru TD MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao

He said that no community would accept it if intentionally someone hurt the feelings of its people.

RAJAHMUNDRY: TD MP from Eluru, Maganti Venkateswara Rao sparked off a row with his controversial statement asking the people from Arya Vysya community to break the legs of those who speak ill against the community. Addressing the public during the inauguration of Arya Vysya Kalyana Mandapam at Kamavarapukota village in West Godavari on Friday, the MP expressed concern over the controversial book written by Prof. Kancha Ilaiah demeaning the Arya Vysya community. He said that no community would accept it if intentionally someone hurt the feelings of its people.

TD MP, T.G. Venkatesh said that women from AP and TS were ready to offer “Tharpanams” to the writer for making such unsavory remarks against the Arya Vysya community. He called upon the people from the community to unite and become strong so that they could face any such onslaught on the interests of the community boldly. He further stated that they were making efforts to establish a common platform to facilitate participation of the people from both the warring groups to resolve the issue amicably but also warned that the Arya Vysya people would teach a befitting lesson to the professor.

AP Film Development Corporation chairman Ambica Krishna stated that his blood boiled when he learnt that the Arya Vysya community had been humiliated by Prof. Kancha Ilaiah through his writings and added that he felt like killing the writer. He said that he was in the US when the controversy emerged. Former Governor K. Rosaiah inaugurated the Kalyana Mandapam.
