Aspirants flooding BJP with applications for party tickets

HYDERABAD: The TS BJP said it had received 999 filled application forms for Assembly seats at the end of four days. Party sources said the number could top 1,500 by the last day of September 10. On Thursday, 333 aspirants submitted their forms, and on Wednesday 306; both days were considered auspicious of Krishnashtami, a party leader said.

On Monday, when the process began, 182 aspirants made their submissions, followed by 178 on Tuesday. The BJP has said all those intending to contest the polls, including senior leaders, must submit their application forms.

Among the notable aspirants so far are Thula Uma (Vemulawada), spokesperson N.V. Subhash, grandson of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, (Khairatabad) and Vikram Goud, son of former Congress minister Mukesh Goud (Goshamahal). Goshamahal is represented by D. Raja Singh but is currently under suspension.

Party legislator Etala Rajendar, M. Raghunadnan Rao or Raja Singh have not applied so far, nor have state BJP president G. Kishan Reddy and party MPs Arvind Dharmapuri, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and Soyam Bapu Rao.
