NELLORE: Former MP Mekapati Rajamohan said on Tuesday that Andhra Pradesh will get special category status whenever a coalition government emerges at the Centre.
Addressing a large gathering during the inauguration of the Mekapati Goutham Reddy Sangam Barrage cum Bridge in Sangam, Rajamohan Reddy claimed a coalition government is a certainty at the Centre after the 2024 polls and “so is special status for AP.”
Chief minister Jagan Reddy will sweep the elections and win all the 175 seats, he said.
Praising the CM for his leadership qualities, Reddy thanked the CM for the moral support he extended to him after the sudden demise of his son Goutham Reddy.
Reddy urged the CM to develop a tourism circuit between Sangam, where Pillaperu and Boggeru rivers join Penna river, and AS Peta. The famous Darga in the village is attracting devotees from various parts of the state, he said and also highlighted the historical significance of the Sangameswara Swamy temple in Sangam.
He requested the CM to include Somasila High Level Canal and other pending projects in Atmakur segment in the priority list of such projects and develop the industrial park in Narampeta.
The CM gave special attention to the family of Goutham Reddy during the inauguration of the barrage and while unveiling the statue of Goutham Reddy. He ensured that Goutham Reddy’s mother Manimanjari, daughter Sai Ananya and wife Sree Keerthi also offered flowers while performing the Ganga Puja to Penna river at Sangam.
Jagan posed for photos with the family in front of Goutham’s statue and made them sit along with him on the dais. He also sanctioned funds for various development works proposed by Atmakur legislator Mekapati Vikram Reddy during the public meeting.
