2G fame DMK has no locus standi to criticise PM: BJP

It is the DMK that is desperate to come to power and was fishing in troubled waters and not the BJP.

Chennai: The BJP took strong exception to DMK working president M.K. Stalin for criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying the 2G fame DMK has no locus standi to criticise the PM.

Despite being the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, he spoke at length targeting the BJP at the platinum jubilee celebrations of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s organ Murasoli.

“This showed that he is unable to digest the growing popularity of the BJP. It is only this growth graph that made him speak like that,” BJP state president

Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Wednesday. While addressing at the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Murasoli, founded by his father and party president M. Karunanidhi, he had said, the BJP was trying to get a toehold in Tamil Nadu taking advantage of the prevailing confusion in the ruling AIADMK. “But it will remain a pipe dream. (At the Centre) It is not the government of Modi, but a fraud government,” he had said.

It is the DMK that is desperate to come to power and was fishing in troubled waters and not the BJP, she said and charged that the DMK never stood for the rights of TN or the Tamils of Sri Lanka.

‘Our dream is not pipe dream’
Asserting that corruption-free transparent governance at TN inclusive of all castes, race and religion is BJP’s vision and dream for the state, Dr Tamilisai said this is not a pipe dream. “We will prove M.K. Stalin wrong by fulfilling Tamilians’ needs and make our dream of Lotus blossoming in TN come true,” she said denying the allegation that BJP is trying to take advantage of prevailing confusion in AIADMK. “DMK has no faith in democratic values, so it is in a hurry to return to power early. It is lining up disappointed and defeated forces in the last election against state and centre and is invoking social justice, communalism, casteism and religious minority sentiments against ruling BJP,” she added.
