Mohammed Ali Shabbir hits out at BJP on Budget

He alleged that the BJP and the TRS were election-centric parties and not people-centric.

Hyderabad: Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir strongly condemned the BJP-led NDA government for not allocating funds for Telangana state in the Budget. He alleged that BJP government had adopted a policy of neglect towards TS.

In a statement on Saturday, Mr Shabbir Ali said there was nothing in the Union Budget that connected the state with the biggest fiscal activity of the Centre. He said the state’s share in the transfer to the states from the Centre was meagre.

He alleged that the BJP government had no clarity on the needs of the state and the TRS government had not presented a proper wish list to the Centre. He alleged that the BJP and the TRS were election-centric parties and not people-centric.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao spent more time targeting Opposition parties than combating issues concerning the people. Both were responsible for neglecting the state, he said.
