Amit Shah begins BJP membership drive in Telangana

The BJP chief interacted with Ms Naik and her family and had snacks and tea offered at her house.

Hyderabad: BJP chief and Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched the party’s membership campaign in Telangana state by issuing a membership card to a tribal woman.

After his arrival at Shamshabad this afternoon, Mr Shah went to the house of Ms J. Soni Naik at Ranganayakula tanda, a tribal hamlet in Mamidipalli of Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad The BJP chief interacted with Ms Naik and her family and had snacks and tea offered at her house.

Ms Naik is an active worker of the party. Mr Shah told her to fight for the people and the party would extend support and protection to her. After the meeting, Mr Shah said in a tweet: “I am deeply touched by her warmth and hospitality.”

Mr Shah planted a peepul sapling at the government school in Mamidipalli.
