Venkanna's comments mirror TD's attitude towards women, says RK Roja
Vijayawada: YSRC MLA R.K.Roja, who was the subject of a verbal attack by MLC Budha Venkanna, says it only shows the attitude of the Telugu Desam towards women.
She told this correspondent that it strongly establishes that women are not safe and they don’t get respect under the TD regime. Ms Roja said women are being character-assassinated when they question the TD government’s misdeeds.
“Venkanna’s vulgar comments speak about the mindset of TD men and the government. They are nothing but comments by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. While they talk about women’s safety and respect to women on the ground, they misbehave and talk ill and pass vulgar remarks against women. Imagine the plight of a normal woman if this is the way TD men are talking about an MLA. The same Budha Venkanna and his associates and family members are involved in Vijayawada’s infamous call money sex racket scandal and destroyed lives of many women and what else can we expect from such a person than these vulgar remarks,” she said.
Ms Roja further said that though TD was trying to clamp down on her with such cheap tricks she will only bounce back to stand in support of women and their safety in AP.
She recalled that in the last one week alone seven cases of atrocities against women of different ages came to light. She said the perpetrators of crime against women in the state were given a free run as they are being shielded by the TD government.
