TD man passes vulgar remarks against RK Roja
Vijayawada: A day after Telugu Desam supremo and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s sermons about women and their safety in the state, his aide and government whip and MLC Budha Venkanna openly denigrated R.K. Roja, an MLA of the Opposition YSR Congress for “meeting the media after consuming liquor”.
He went on to recommend a breathalyser test for Ms Roja. Mr Venkanna said he would prove that she had acted in blue films and consumes alcohol.
He told reporters on Sunday that Ms Roja has been behaving without “any shame”. He added that youth are getting on the wrong track after watching “Jabardhast” shows and blue films in which Ms Roja had allegedly acted.
Continuing with his vicio-us outburst, Mr Venkanna claimed that women, irres-pective of political party affiliations, are ready to hurl eggs at Ms Roja if she visits Vijayawada. Terming her as a person, who brings bad luck to the party she represents, he challenged Ms Roja to a debate on the allegations she levelled ag-ainst the TD. He said that the YSRC is like a Dandupa-lyam gang infamous for burglaries in Karnataka.
Surprisingly, the TD’s official spokesperson, Lanka Dinakar, instead of condemning such accusations, told Deccan Chronicle, “All-egations were made in his personal capacity. So, I can’t react or comment on it.”
Nannapaneni Raja Kuma-ri, state mahila commission chairperson and TD MLC, has strongly condemned Mr Venkanna’s remarks. “Cutt-ing across party lines such comments and remarks ne-ed to be strongly condemn-ed. Comments should not be made on a personal level. Such comments are strongly condemnable. Men should stay away from such che-ap and vulgar talk,” she said.
