KCR front plan to divert public attention: AICC

Mr Reddy added that the CM had promised to construct over 2.72 lakh 2-BHKs for the poor.

Hyderabad: AICC member and Congress Seva Dal chairman Kanukula Janardhan Reddy on Sunday alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to float federal front and Rythu Bandhu scheme with an aim to divert public attention from his failure in fulfilling his two major poll promises, of providing 2-BHK housing and 3 acres of land to Dalits during the past four years.

Addressing the media here, Mr Reddy said that if the CM was really sincere abo-ut the welfare of farmers, he would have taken adequate steps to provide all fa-cilities in the market yards in the last four years. He alleged that due to the lack of these facilities, lakhs of metric tonnes of food grains were being damaged bec-ause of the rains every year and farmers were suffering huge losses.

“In the recent flash flo-ods, lakhs of metric ton-nes of paddy brought to market yards by farmers got dren-ched and damaged. Every farmer suffered losses ran-ging from Rs 50,000 to few lak-hs. How can the governme-nt compensate by giving Rs 4,000 per acre? If CM is really sincere, he should ut-ilise those funds to create better facilities in market yards, better marketing fac-ility and ensure MSP. Inste-ad of addressing these issues, he is trying to fool far-mers in the name of Rythu Bandhu scheme. This scheme will not help farmers unless the basic issues are addre-ssed,”Mr Reddy said.

Mr Reddy added that the CM had promised to construct over 2.72 lakh 2-BHKs for the poor but could complete and hand over only 4,700 2-BHKs to the beneficiaries in the last four years.

Mr Reddy alleged that with 2019 elections app-roaching, the CM, ministers, TRS MLAs are once again trying to fool the public by laying the foundation stone for 2-BHKs in all districts.

“They showed 400 hou-ses constructed in IDL colony in the city to win GHMC elections in 2016. Now they want to show 4,700 houses constructed in the entire state to win 2019 elections. But they should realise that they cannot fool people all the time,” Mr Reddy said.
