Neutral leaders do not want to risk it'
Bengaluru: Chant the mantra of unity and keep mum on infighting among leaders of the state unit of BJP: That’s the strategy of second-rung leaders attending the two-day state executive in Mysuru.
Reason: These leaders are wary that one wrong word could cost them dear as admitted by neutral party leaders and office bearers. They also admitted that they were not surprised by the silence of second rung leaders at the conference which commenced today. Those who have remained equidistant from seven top leaders-B.S. Yeddyurappa, H N Ananth Kumar, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Jagadish Shettar, R. Ashok, K.S. Eshwarappa and Pralhad Joshi-said they these leaders put their interests ahead of that of the party.
“You watch their conduct in party meetings or strategic decision making process. They gave top priority to their personal agenda. For instance, if their supporters are accommodated in party posts or given tickets for Council or Assembly elections, they remain happy. If they do not succeed, then they launch a disinformation campaign against the leader who holds the mantle. So, the present fight between Mr Yeddyurappa and Mr Eshwarappa is no exception,” they added.
These second rung leaders did not want to complain to party in-charge od state P. Muralidhar Rao as he would be given a different picture by these seven leaders. “We do not want to risk it. But, we guess party chief Amit Shah and PM Modi, know this well. They do not trust these leaders. That is for sure and they are likely to come out with their own strategy for Karnataka,” the leaders added.
