Vijayawada: Voter awareness drive is on track

Mr Imtiaz also suggested to them to elect a genuine person to build a good society. 

Vijayawada: District electoral officer and collector A. Md. Imtiaz on Saturday welcomed the Himasagar Express that is the longest train service in the country, from Jammu Tavi to Kanyakumari, in Vijayawada Railway Junction.

On the occasion Mr Imtiaz sensitised the passengers in the train to cast their vote without fail and not to fall for sops. He asked the passengers to know the importance of the casting of vote. Collector asked them not to fall for the money, liquor or other sops.

He told them that everyone should feel that it’s their responsibility to cast vote as it is the Right given by the Constitution to all citizens over 18 years of age. Mr Imtiaz said that the polling day is not a holiday but a day to be responsible citizens. The collector told the passengers to treat polling day as the biggest festival for the people of the country.

Mr Imtiaz also suggested to them to elect a genuine person to build a good society.

He informed the passengers that the Election Commission has started SVEEP program to create awareness among the public.

Later, Mr Imtiaz flagged off the Himasagar Express.
