Pawan Kalyan is back, Ram Charan to join campaign

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena president K. Pawan Kalyan who took ill on Friday resumed his campaign at Tenali on Saturday, evening, lifting gloom that had enveloped the party.

Mr Kalyan was discharged from a hospital in Vijayawada where he was admitted earlier in the day with dehydration. He stayed at his house in Vijayawada for most part of the day before resuming his campaign in Tenali for former Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar.

Recalling the development of the constituency during Mr Manohar’s tenure, he asked the people to elect the former Speaker so that he could turn the town into a modern city.

Speaking on local issues, Mr Kalyan alleged that Telugu Desam Tenali MLA Alapati Rajendra Prasad was involved in land grabbing had earned money through illegal sand mining and other corrupt activities.

He said that Tenali was once famous as the 'Andhra Paris', as change first started from the town. He asked the people to change AP politics by voting against corrupt political parties.

He promised to modernise the Buckingham Canal with Rs 5,000 crore and develop Tenali into a tourist centre. He alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had done nothing for the past five years and were now asking power for more five years to "cheat" the public.
