Bhubaneswar: Jay Panda trains guns on Naveen Patnaik
Bhubaneswar: BJP national vice-president and Lok Sabha candidate for Kendrapara, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda along with party’s Patkura Assembly candidate Bijoy Mohapatra on Saturday trained guns on the ruling BJD at a public meeting in Kendrapara.
Addressing the public meeting at Chhatahat in Derabisi block of Kendrapara district, Mr Panda said, “BJD has moved away from the ideologies on which the party was formed. The party which was formed with assistance of the BJP has tarnished the name of Biju Babu.”
He alleged that BJD has set up ‘Goonda Vahini’ (Yuva Vahini) by misusing public money.
“Odisha is top in terms of crime and violence against women and children, farmers are beaten up for raising their voice, people forced to migrate to other places in search of employment. It’s high time Odisha needs ‘Parivartan’,” Panda said.
He said that the Centre is providing assistance worth hundreds of crores Odisha but due to the state government’s apathy, the money is returned unutilised.
The senior BJP leader also targeted Odisha government for not implementing PM-KISAN Yojana despite farmers in the state facing hardship.
Earlier Panda arrived in Kendrapara to a rousing reception and was taken in a grand procession to the meeting venue. He was accompanied by Ollywood heartthrob Babusan.
BJP’s candidate for Patkura Assembly seat, Bijoy Mohapatra, who was present at the meeting, also came down heavily on the ruling-BJD for failing on several fronts.
“It will be a historic election. Those in power have failed miserably and people have realised this,” said Mohapatra.
