Mumbai: In a stinging attack on political rivals, BJP president Amit Shah on Friday equated the parties trying to join hands against the BJP to ‘snakes’, ‘mongoose’, ‘dogs’ and ‘cats’.

He was responding to questions over his remarks.

“Snake and mongoose have nothing in common. Let me take names: Samajwadi Party and BSP, Trinamul and Congress, Chandrababu Naidu and Congress, they have nothing in common and no ideological similarities, but are coming together,” Mr Shah said.

The BJP president reiterated that the Modi government would never abolish the Atrocities Act and reservation to SCs, STs and OBCs nor would it allow Congress and other parties to do so.
