Topple Cong govt: Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat

Mr Bhat also reiterated his opposition to minister U T Khader's visit to temples as the latter supported slaughter of cattle.

MANGALURU: Controversial RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat stirred fresh trouble with a call to overthrow the state government on grounds that it did not respect the sentiments of people.

Addressing a group of people staging a hunger strike to protest inaction against cattle thieves on Friday, he said: “This fight is for justice. The elections are fast approaching and now we have got good opportunity. We need to overthrow the bad government. This government cannot protect our God, our cattle and women. The anti cow slaughter bill passed by the previous (BJP) government has been scrapped by this government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah supports slaughter of cattle. Some people appreciate the present representatives (of Congress) for construction and development of roads, but can our girls walk without fear on those roads? Can we organize a procession of our God on those roads fearlessly? When this is not possible what is the use of such development? We need to uproot and overthrow such governments which cannot provide safety to our seers, women, places of worship and cattle. This is a 'Dharma Virodhi' government, and we will not get justice as long as this government is in office.”

Mr Bhat also reiterated his opposition to minister U T Khader’s visit to temples as the latter supported slaughter of cattle.

“I had said if Mr Khader comes to any Hindu place of worship then there is a need to perform 'Brahmakalasha' in that temple (for cleansing). I stand by this statement," he added.
