Union minister lauds Mission Bhagiratha

The Union Minister was in Bengaluru for the southern states’ conclave on ‘jal jeevan’ and ‘Swachh Bharat” missions

Hyderabad: Stating that every household in the state is getting free water supply under Mission Bhagiratha, panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday said that Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had praised the Telangana government's unique initiative.

The Union Minister was in Bengaluru for the southern states’ conclave on ‘jal jeevan’ and ‘Swachh Bharat” missions. He specifically spoke about the remarkable results achieved by Mission Bhagiratha.

Dayakar Rao said that as many as 54 lakh households are now getting drinking water facilities from the project. Telangana tops in providing drinking water to 23, 930 villagers.

He exhorted the Union government to sanction Rs 19,000 crore to Telangana for implementing Mission Bhagiratha project as per Niti Ayog recommendations.
