BJP suppressing rivals through fear: Chandrababu Naidu

He said the BJP government at the Centre was stopping funds to AP because of political enmity.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the BJP was trying to suppress other political parties by slapping cases and carrying out checks and raids to create fear.

Mr Naidu was speaking at a teleconference with collectors, nodal officers and people’s representatives on the fifth day of Janmabhoomi, a campaign to focus on welfare sche-mes across the state, on Sunday. He alleged that the CBI registered cases against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati just two days after their parties formed an electoral alliance. He said the BJP was also using the CBI to conduct raids on Opposition leaders and resorting to bomb attacks and triggering cla-shes in peaceful Kerala in the name of religion.

He said the BJP government at the Centre was stopping funds to AP because of political enmity. But despite non-cooperation from the Centre, the state was getting national and international awards, which go to show that development was taking place in AP.
