YSRC, TD activists clash in Eluru
Kakinada: YSRC activists staged a dharna in the premises of the RMO office at Eluru Government Hospital on Monday night, expressing their protest against alleged attacks on them by Telugu Desam men.
According to sources, some followers of former Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar went to Polavaram Right Canal, alleging that the YSRC leaders dug the soil there on Sunday night. This led to clashes between YSRC and TD workers.
Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s follower Siva Babu and three other party activists were injured and admitted to the government hospital in Eluru by midnight on Sunday.
Later, some YSRC activists, who were injured in attacks by TD men at the same spot, came to the hospital to get medical treatment. The TD workers attacked them.
On Monday morning, the injured TD men were shifted to a hospital in Vijayawada for further treatment. By Monday afternoon, TD leader Ganni Veeranjaneyulu challenged the YSRC leaders to come for a fight with them at any place of their choice.
YSRC official spokesperson Karhari Ramachandra Rao went to government hospital at Eluru and consoled the injured YSRC activists. He expressed anger over the hospital officials not informing the police when the TD workers attacked YSRC men in the hospital promises.
Later, speaking to the media, Ramachandra Rao found fault with the comments from Ganni Veeranjaneyulu. He said the TD leader provoked YSRC men and tried to disturb the law and order. He said that, however, he welcomed the challenge and the YSRC was getting ready to face the TD men.
