Revanth to file Kamareddy nomination on Nov. 10, Siddaramaiah to attend

Revanth also to contest from his native constituency of Kodangal

Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy will file his nomination from the Kamareddy Assembly segment, where he will go up against Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, on November 10 with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in tow, sources said.

Besides Kamareddy, Revanth Reddy will also contest from his native constituency of Kodangal in Vikarabad district.

Before filing the nomination, Siddaramaiah will announce the party’s BC Declaration at an event in Kamareddy, highlighting its welfare plans for BCs.

Although the Congress high command is yet to release its third list of candidates for nine seats, party sources confirmed that the high command conveyed its decision to field Revanth from Kamareddy on Sunday.

Sources said that on November 8, senior leader Mohd Ali Shabbir, who has been contesting from the Kamareddy constituency for decades, will file nomination papers on behalf of Revanth Reddy, while on November 10, the TPCC chief will again file his complete nomination papers after holding a massive rally.

In Kodangal too, Revanth Reddy is doubling down on filing nominations. On November 3, his brother A. Tirupathi Reddy and ex-Kodangal MLA R. Gurunath Reddy filed a nomination on his behalf, and he will appear for filing nomination on Monday along with the affidavit, after holding a rally.

Sources said that Siddaramaiah will visit Kamareddy on November 10 to release the BC Declaration and address a public meeting, along with Revanth Reddy and other senior leaders.

Meanwhile, the party speeded up the distribution of B-forms to candidates. The Congress has declared candidates for 100 seats in two lists so far.

However, the party kept the distribution of Form B on hold for three Assembly seats — Chevella, Wanaparthy and Boath — even after announcing candidates, fuelling speculation that the candidates may be changed, based on fresh surveys.

The Congress had announced P. Bheem Bharat as its candidate for Chevella, Vennela Ashok from Boath and former minister G. Chinna Reddy from Wanaparthy.

Sources said that Forms B were readied for 97 candidates and 60 were distributed to candidates by Sunday. The rest will be distributed on Monday.
