Revanth Promises Indiramma Rajyam in Telangana

Congress would win 75 seats as per the latest survey: Revanth

Hyderabad: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy said the Congress is geared up to usher in “Indiramma Rajyam” in Telangana on December 9, after securing an absolute majority in the Assembly elections.

In an exclusive interview with Deccan Chronicle on Sunday at his residence here, Revanth said he was ready to take on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in the Kamareddy segment and defeat him with a convincing majority. He said that the people of Telangana were eagerly waiting for the polling day, November 30, to dethrone the BRS government, claiming it failed on all fronts in the past nine years.

He reiterated that the first file to be signed by the new Congress government on December 9 will pertain to the implementation of the six guarantees promised to the people.

“The elderly will get Rs 4,000 pension per month and women will get a pension of Rs 2,500 per month in their bank accounts on the first of every month starting 2024. Women will also receive cylinders for just Rs 500. Farmers will get 24-hour quality power supply, besides Rs 15,000 per acre per year, while tenant farmers will get Rs 12,000 per acre per year.

For the homeless, the Congress government will distribute land pattas and extend Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to construct houses. Students will get Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to pursue their higher studies and 2 lakh jobs vacancies in government will be filled in a year,” he said.

Revanth Reddy said there is a strong anti-incumbency wave against the BRS government in Telangana and expressed confidence in an absolute majority for the Congress. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had lost the trust of the people due to his misrule, family rule and corruption.

The TPCC chief said the people of Telangana were considering the Assembly polls as a fight between them and the BRS. “People want Congress to lead them in this fight against BRS as they strongly believe that BRS and BJP are the same. After suffering on all fronts, people will not repeat the mistake of voting for BRS as they committed in 2014 and 2018,” Revanth said.

He said that the sinking pillars of Medigadda barrage and leakages at Annaram and Sundilla barrages would prove to be the “final nail in the BRS government's coffin”, accusing Rao and his family of looting Rs 1 lakh crore from the people of Telangana and encroaching upon 10,000 acres around Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy said the new Congress government will not spare Chandrashekar Rao “even if he wants to take rest in his farmhouse” after facing defeat in Assembly polls. “The new Congress government will recover the funds and lands looted by CM and his family members and distribute them among the people,” he said.

He stated that all survey results indicated a clear majority for Congress. He said Congress victory in Assembly polls is a foregone conclusion and they were only focussed on securing a big majority. He said the Congress would win 70 to 75 seats as per the latest surveys and it would not be a surprise if its tally crossed 80 on December 3, when the results will be announced.
