Support Congress for Development: Revanth

Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Monday filed his nomination papers in Kodangal, after terming the upcoming state Assembly elections a fight between the people of Kodangal and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Rapping the BRS for allegedly failing to fulfil its developmental promises in Kodangal, he asked the Kodangal electorate to pass a mass resolution to support the Congress in the polls. “If the Congress comes to power in Telangana, more development activities would take place in Kodangal,” he said.

After addressing a gathering of supporters and party cadres, the TPCC chief proceeded to file his nomination papers amid light showers, with pro-Congress sloganeering renting the air.

Citing Karnataka PCC chief and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s role in bringing the party to power in Karnataka, Revanth Reddy said that Kodangal would gain fame at the national level if it helped propel the party to power.

“Congress should win in Kodangal with more majority than D.K. Shivakumar did in Karnataka. Within two years of winning, Narayanapet Kodangal will get more funds. Mahbubnagar-Chincholi National Highway will be completed in a year. Special degree colleges for girls would come up and it is my responsibility to stand up for your self-respect,” the TPCC chief said.

“In the 2018 elections, the BRS, K.T. Rama Rao and Chandrashekar Rao promised to provide funds for Kodangal. After elections, the BRS leaders forgot Kodangal and its people. The BRS promised to establish cement factories, junior colleges, degree colleges and engineering colleges but no developmental activity took place,” Revanth Reddy said.

The TPCC chief said he had also challenged the Chief Minister to discuss the issues at the Ambedkar statue in Kodangal, but failed to get a response. “The government did not provide Krishna water, railway lines or national highway constructions,” he said.

“These elections will bring change to the lives of Kodangal people if the Congress comes to power. Elections will bring recognition to Kodangal at Delhi level. Congress leaders are united to support and the people in villages must unite to support the Congress. If we split into groups and communities, we will collapse,” Revanth Reddy said.
