When asked whether Ravi’s death and RSS worker Rudresh’s recent murder in Bengaluru were connected, SP Ravi Channannanavar said the latest case was under investigation from all angles by four teams formed by the district police. Officers of RTO have been asked to provide information on the nature of accident, whether he lost balance and fell on his own or if a vehicle had rammed into his two-wheeler with the intention to kill him.
Tension gripped Periyapatna with scores of BJP leaders staging a protest as the local police denied them permission to take his body in a procession before the last rites. The situation, however, was under control in the town.
